Free Studies in the UK — How Student Finance England Works

Student Finance England makes university studies free at the point of entry. You pay nothing upfront — the government loans you the money, and you repay only when you earn over £25,000/year. After 40 years, any remaining debt is written off.

Two Main Components

Tuition Fee Loan: Up to £9,250/year, paid directly to your university. Maintenance Loan: Up to £14,000/year in London, paid into your bank account in 3 instalments per year.

Eligibility for Romanians

You need: Settled or Pre-Settled Status under EU Settlement Scheme, 3 years of UK residence, and enrolment on an accredited course.
